ABOUT THE ROLE

The CNC Operator is responsible for setting up and operating a 3-axis CNC machine to mill forms from wood or foam based on production requirements. This role includes loading stock material, running programmed jobs, and ensuring accurate setup to produce high-quality finished forms. In addition, the operator performs daily safety checks, basic machine maintenance, and supports the mold shop team during downtime under the direction of the Mold Shop Supervisor.

Salary range $26-$28/Hour. Based on experience.

WHAT YOU'LL DO



  • Read production drawings/blueprints and operate CNC to create custom wooden forms with close tolerance to specifications
  • Must have clear knowledge of basic measurements and the ability to read a tape measure within a 16th of an inch
  • Must be able to use a variety of tools, including but not limited to, staple gun, brad nailer, hammer, measuring tape, pneumatic nail gun, pneumatic palm sander, and circular saws
  • Maintain good housekeeping and always follows Gate Precast safety policies and procedures
  • Excellent time management skills with a proven ability to meet deadlines
  • Ability to function well in a fast-paced environment
  • Willingness and ability to work as a team player
  • Perform additional duties as requested or required


WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

We are seeking a mechanically inclined, detail-oriented CNC Operator with experience or interest in machine setup, fabrication, and precision milling work. The ideal candidate is safety-focused, reliable, and capable of operating a 3-axis CNC machine while maintaining accurate setups and high-quality output from wood or foam materials. This individual is a strong team player who is willing to support mold shop operations, perform basic maintenance, and adapt to changing priorities in a fast-paced production environment.

IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE



  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • 1+ years CNC experience required
  • Construction experience required
  • Precast experience preferred


WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS



  • Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting up to 75 lbs occasionally and frequent bending, climbing, kneeling, twisting, squatting, crawling, and repetitive hand/arm use
  • Capable of standing, walking, and moving throughout the facility for extended shifts of up to 12 hours
  • Comfortable working at heights using ladders, scaffolding, swing stages, and man lifts frequently
  • Ability to work safely in a production or field environment with moderate to high exposure to safety risks and hazards
  • Willingness to work in varying environmental conditions, including wet, hot, humid, and cold weather, and outdoors year-round
  • Ability to wear all required PPE, including but not limited to safety boots, safety glasses, hearing protection, high visibility vest, hard hat, and other PPE as required by the task, department, or work area.
