ABOUT THE ROLE

A Maintenance Technician is responsible for inspecting, maintaining, and repairing building systems and production equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations. This role performs preventative maintenance, responds to work orders, and supports electrical, mechanical, HVAC, plumbing, and safety systems, including alarms and ventilation. The ideal candidate helps coordinate with production, maintains equipment performance standards, and keeps the maintenance shop clean and organized while ensuring all work meets health and safety requirements.

WHAT YOU'LL DO



  • Survey buildings and repair mechanical systems to ensure they are consistent with health and safety standards
  • Perform maintenance of electrical systems (replace light bulbs and sockets, clean and repair circuit breaker panels etc.)
  • Assist in the setup of ventilation, refrigeration and other systems and conduct repairs when necessary
  • Maintain heating and plumbing systems to ensure functionality
  • Inspect alarm systems (fire, protection)
  • Maintain all production equipment
  • Clean organize maintenance shop at the end of each shift
  • Perform PMs on equipment and coordinate with production
  • Complete work orders when assigned


WHO WE'RE LOOKING FOR

A strong Maintenance Technician candidate is a hands-on, safety-focused professional who takes pride in keeping building systems and production equipment operating reliably and efficiently. They are skilled in troubleshooting mechanical, electrical, HVAC, plumbing, and control systems and respond quickly to maintenance needs to minimize downtime and support production goals. The ideal candidate is self-motivated, team-oriented, and capable of working independently while maintaining high standards of safety, organization, and quality in a fast-paced manufacturing environment.

IDEAL CANDIDATE WILL HAVE



  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Proven experience as a Maintenance Technician
  • Ability to work in a team environment
  • Self-starter with a high level of motivation
  • Ability to troubleshoot VFD and PLC systems
  • Basic understanding of electrical, hydraulic, and other mechanical systems
  • Knowledge of general maintenance processes, methods, tools, and equipment of the trade
  • Working knowledge of tools, common appliances, and devices
  • Ability to read a tape measure and other precision measuring tools
  • Strong manual dexterity, problem-solving skills, and above-average mechanical aptitude
  • Detailed knowledge of internal combustion engines and automotive components, including electrical, hydraulic, and mechanical systems
  • Strong mathematical aptitude


WORKING CONDITIONS/PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS



  • Ability to perform physically demanding work, including lifting up to 75 lbs occasionally and frequent bending, climbing, kneeling, twisting, squatting, crawling, and repetitive hand/arm use
  • Capable of standing, walking, and moving throughout the facility for extended shifts of up to 12 hours
  • Comfortable working at heights using ladders, scaffolding, swing stages, and man lifts frequently
  • Ability to work safely in a production or field environment with moderate to high exposure to safety risks and hazards
  • Willingness to work in varying environmental conditions, including wet, hot, humid, and cold weather, and outdoors year-round
  • Ability to wear all required PPE, including but not limited to safety boots, safety glasses, hearing protection, high visibility vest, hard hat, and other PPE as required by the task, department, or work area.
