This position reports to

Senior Technical Service Consultant

Your role and responsibilities

*Reviewing components of manufacturing systems or industrial equipment and their electrical connections to compile information necessary to provide a complete design and electrical engineering recommendations.
*Development of high quality and thoroughly coordinated electrical construction drawings with an emphasis on constructability.
*Learning the electrical craft expertise essential in the performance of electrical installations by qualified electricians.
*Assist with the coordination, preparation, and safe execution of electrical outages to complete installation or modification of circuits in Facilities electrical panels, panelboards, and substations.
*Assist in-house and contractor electricians/mechanics in troubleshooting circuit and system issues to ensure quick resolution of manufacturing production process interruptions.
*Application of Codes, Regulations and Standards such as NFPA 70 (National Electrical Code), NFPA 70E (Standard for Electrical Safety in the Workplace, NFPA 70B (Recommended Practice for Electrical Equipment Maintenance), ANSI, NEMA, UL, NEIS and others as applicable to the design and installation of electrical circuits and equipment.
*Collaborating with multi-discipline team members for equipment failure investigations and root-cause analyses to determine and mitigate common failure modes for critical equipment,
*Determining proper relay, circuit breaker and fuse tripping settings for proper circuit selective coordination in accordance with the NEC/CEC and IEEE Standards to promote maximum system and personnel safety as well as production uptime.
*Performing electrical system short circuit, device coordination and arc flash hazard analysis using SKM Power Tools software
*Prepare for and participate in coordinated multi-discipline project reviews.
*Assist with development of Scope of Work, Basis of Design, and Sequence of Operation documents.
*Collaborate closely with external and in-house electrical construction teams to provide safe, efficient, effective electrical construction installations in all environments.
*Manufacturing equipment design reviews and site visits to review construction of equipment and coordinate utility connections/designs.
*Provide drawings for electric vehicle infrastructure that are code and AHJ compliant.
*Reviewed and provided technical analysis of asset issues related to electrical engineering design.
*Review breaker setting requirements.
*Provided applied engineering and technical consultation for customers in the areas of power systems studies and designs.
*Interpreted specs and customer inquiries and design technical proposals and pricing for customers.
*Provided technical solutions for customers that may involve equipment design or upgrades (NEC, NFPA 70E, IEEE 1584)
*Work with other internal departments to achieve project deliverables.
*Perform process improvement activities.
*May be asked to conduct onsite fieldwork to support our Condition Monitoring and Electrical Safety Services
*Provide excellent customer service to our clients that may include regular phone and mail updates.

Qualifications for the role
  • You have obtained an Engineering degree from an accredited school or university.
  • 5+ years of experience working as an Electrical Engineer.
  • 2+ years of EV experience and/or 2+ years of PV [solar 1MW+] design experience.
  • BESS design experience preferred.
  • Must be able to pass a criminal background check and a drug screening.
