Starkey is hiring a Senior Cost Accountant at our Global Headquarters in Eden Prairie, MN. This position is responsible for working in a global corporation providing cost accounting support for multiple manufacturing sites. This role will provide cost accounting, reporting and analysis to support company objectives and improvements for inventory management, product cost/ profitability, manufacturing productivity and overall process efficiency across several factories

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Develop and implement cost standards for materials and labor
  • Analyze actual manufacturing costs and prepare periodic reports comparing actual results to standard costs
  • Prepare and input accounting journal entries, documentation, and financial reporting data to support accurate & timely financial statements in accordance with US GAAP and corporate financial policies
  • Prepare account reconciliations and reviews, to ensure proper balance sheet valuation and reporting
  • Prepare and communicate monthly analysis of manufacturing variances and recommend actions for improvement
  • Partner with site operations to develop and review standards costs & product cost performance
  • Assist with audits and internal control reviews, including documentation
  • Support the physical inventory counts and periodic cycle counts
  • Assist in identifying and driving best in class process improvement strategies
  • Support system updates and maintenance
  • Update process documentation including accounting policies and procedure



JOB REQUIREMENTS

Minimum Education, Certification and Experience Requirements

Education





    • 4-year degree in Business/Finance/Accounting and/or equivalent combination of education and experience. An advanced degree and CMA certification is helpful.




Experience





    • 5+ years of related experience working in finance and cost accounting in a manufacturing company
    • Cost Accounting experience highly desired. Proficient with Oracle ERP





Knowledge / Technical Requirements



  • Ability to apply knowledge of GAAP & Cost Accounting Standards
  • Intermediate level of experience required with Oracle, Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
