We are currently looking to fill the position of Performance Reporting Manager, Sr. The Performance Reporting Manager, Sr. is responsible for redesigning the performance reporting program within Wealth Management's 1834 Group. The incumbent will be tasked with expanding the capabilities of the existing performance program to match the institutional sophistication and scale of the 1834 line of business. The Performance Reporting Manager, Sr. will be responsible for managing a team of performance reporting analysts to deliver timely, accurate, and comprehensive performance reporting for individual and institutional relationships. The incumbent will manage key vendor relationships supporting the performance reporting program. The Performance Reporting Manager Sr. will work closely with equity and fixed income research teams, portfolio construction team, central management team, portfolio managers, and operations team members.

Key Accountabilities

Performance Measurement:

    Serve as the subject matter expert for 1834 in Global Investment Performance Standards (GIPS ) and apply GIPS within 1834's performance calculation framework
  • Create and enhance institutional performance reporting tools available to the 1834 Group including complex performance reporting for Institutional clients/relationships.
  • Provide oversight and due diligence for all third-party relationships around performance reporting to ensure the providers are meeting expectations in-line with our expected target operating model and internal risk management framework.
  • Ensure the accuracy of performance calculations for 1834 relationships and composites created and maintained by 1834
  • Facilitate performance measurement presentations to institutional clients in collaboration with portfolio and relationship managers
  • Assist in the resolution of performance issues, which may include collaborating with 1834's operational group, 1834's system's support group, or the performance vendor's operational group

Drive Operational Effectiveness:

  • Own and build relationships with key vendors providing technology and resources required to strengthen the performance measurement program.
  • Lead disciplined performance management by clearly defining expectations and priorities and tracking key performance indicators.
  • Collaborate effectively with others in the organization to identify, support, and execute opportunities to enhance the performance reporting needs of the 1834 client base.

Lead, Coach, and Develop Others:

  • Build a high performing team through effective coaching, timely and honest feedback, development planning, and training.
  • Communicate regularly with the team reinforcing company and department values to ensure that the team feels connected with the company and Wealth Management goals and initiatives.
  • Serve as a resource for issues and questions that require escalation while also providing direction and coaching for others to cultivate an environment that promotes learning and empowerment.

Key Competencies for Position

  • Technical Knowledge - A thorough understanding of Current GIPS requirements, as well as performance measurement and trust accounting systems.
  • Makes Decisions and Solves Problems- Proactively analyzes and owns qualitative and quantitative data to define business areas problems and opportunities through effective collaboration. Creates a plan to meet goals and objectives and evaluates progress along the way allowing for adjustments.
  • Planning and Organizing - Determine a course of action, set and manage priorities, and ensure optimal resources to achieve individual and/or team objectives. Adapt to unexpected changes in circumstances to ensure targets/deadlines are met. Consistently meet goals, milestones, and deliverables within the expected timeframe.

Qualifications and Education Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in finance, accounting, business, or related field
  • 10+ years of performance industry experience including institutional clients.
  • Experience managing large-scale projects introducing new tools, technology, and processes
  • Must possess strong relationship building skills including verbal and written communication skills
  • Must possess strong analytical skills
  • Working knowledge of investment markets, investment operational processes and investment benchmarks
  • In-depth experience with performance measurement systems and accounting systems
  • Experience with investment technology: Morningstar Direct, Bloomberg, First Rate, or Factset
  • Experience with Microsoft Office applications
  • CIPM, CFA, or MBA designation preferred

  • Timely delivery and accuracy of client relationship performance
  • Client retention
