ABOUT THE ROLE:

The main responsibility of the Lead Teller is to ensure the daily operations of the branch teller line are operating efficiently and effectively. Relied upon to resolve escalated issues with clients and staff. Will lead by example performing a 'Player/Coach' role, provide leadership and training for the teller line staff; promotes new or expanded relationships for the company by maintaining exceptional client relations and referring clients to appropriate advisors for new products and service solutions; completes work with a high level of accuracy; and assures compliance with all applicable company policies and procedures, as well as all applicable state and federal regulations. Responsible for the security and all applicable audit items under the location.

WHAT YOU'LL BE DOING:



  • Supervise, train, and develop teller staff, to ensure they meet or exceed standards of their role.
  • Support staff by approving/overseeing transactions as needed and assisting with balancing issues and verifications of cash discrepancies.
  • Ensure adherence to policies and procedures of teller line functions; continuously work to improve the operations of the teller line and the office. Maintain strong knowledge of Alerus products and services and have solid knowledge of teller transactions and operations; be the "go to" for the teller line.
  • Complete monthly, quarterly, and annual audits of cash tills prepaid and instant issue cards, and security alarms to ensure regulatory and policy/procedure compliance.
  • Serve clients with the highest level of client service and be able to perform advanced and/or complex transactions. Resolve client complaints and discern when to escalate.
  • Be flexible and adaptive when faced with changing needs of the client and the company; lead by example.
  • Ensure supply levels are adequate and maintained in teller and lobby areas. Order supplies as necessary.

WORK ENVIRONMENT: Work is typically performed in an office setting. The employee is regularly required to sit for extended periods of time. The employee is occasionally required to move about the office utilizing proper ergonomic safeguards when doing so. Additionally, the employee must occasionally lift or move supplies and materials up to 20 pounds.

BASE PAY RANGE:

$19.00 - $21.00 per hour
