Position Summary
Will support the Director of Financial Planning and Operations to provide analytical support to Steinhardt's 11 Academic Departments and Senior Leadership. Assist in creating Profits and Loss Reports and projection models to forecast areas of growth across academic programs or to highlight programs where resource contraction and/or reallocation should occur. Will also perform variance analysis on Steinhardt's revenue/expenses relative to the School's Financial Plan. Will regularly present findings and recommendations to leadership to guide their decision-making.
Qualifications
Required Education: Bachelor's Degree in Business, Finance, Economics, Statistics or other analytical discipline
Preferred Education: Master's Degree MBA
Required Experience: 2+ years quantitative analytical experience, preferable in finance. Experience working collaboratively with various stakeholders across the organization. Demonstrated experience implementing operations solutions to improve efficiency in financial planning and budgeting. Strong quantitative and modeling skills.
Preferred Experience: Some Higher Ed experience a plus.
Required Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: The Financial Strategy Analyst should be resourceful, curious, and self-motivated to use the tools available to gather information to answer questions and solve problems. The Financial Strategy Analyst should be organized, detail-oriented, and an exceptional communicator with effective interpersonal skills who can learn in a cross-collaborative environment. Demonstrate proficiency with intermediate to advanced level Microsoft Excel and Google Sheets. Must demonstrate proficiency with Excel Pivot Table and formulas, such as VLOOKUP, IF statements (SUMIF, IFERROR, etc) INDEX, MATCH, text to columns, concatenate, find & replace, etc. Ability to understand, analyze, and communicate financial analysis in a clear and concise fashion. Demonstrate and appreciation and curiosity to learn new skills. Open to giving and receiving feedback. Organized and detail oriented. Exceptional communicator.
Preferred Skills, Knowledge and Abilities: Some Higher Ed experience a plus

In compliance with NYC's Pay Transparency Act, the annual base salary range for this position is USD $85.500.00 to USD $104,500. New York University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position, candidate's work experience, education/training, key skills, internal peer equity, as well as, market and organizational considerations when extending an offer. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
