Job Summary This move will position Pharma Solutions to expand its industry leadership through continued investment in innovation to meet the evolving needs of pharmaceutical manufacturers and developers worldwide. The sale is presently expected to close in the first half of 2025, pending regulatory approvals and other closing conditions. The Pharma Solutions business unit will remain a part of IFF until close and, at such time, it will transition to Roquette. The Global Strategic Marketing Manager (GSMM) - Biologics will serve in a critical role on the Pharma Solutions' Strategic Marketing Team helping to shape and guide the future path of the organization across a key market segment. The GSMM - Biologics is responsible for developing and implementing the strategy to enable Pharma Solutions (PhS) to become a large, credible, and active participant in the bioprocessing, medical biopolymers and other biotechnology segments and applications. Additionally, the GSMM will lead an existing business managing the Novamatrix product line with approximately $10-20 MM in annual revenue. The hired individual will continue several key programs in flight, driving the segment's strategy and connecting customer needs with our solutions. You will lead global business development efforts and own the management of the most promising customer opportunities with the commercial sales team and R&D segment leaders. The dynamic individual will refine the strategy, manage the products, and contribute directly to the business development of the segment. The Pharma Solutions (PhS) business is a leader in oral solid delivery systems like capsules, tablets, and softgels. Today, we are one of the largest suppliers of excipients in the world to the Pharma industry. We have relationships with most of the largest pharmaceutical manufacturers, however PhS' participation in the Biologics segment has been limited. In the last couple years PhS' has taken a more focused and ambitions approach to growing the Biologics business. The GSMM will interact closely with stakeholders in various regions, functions, and outside partners to accomplish these objectives. And will work closely with, and at times lead, a dedicated group of R&D, Application Development and Marketing professionals to advance the segments growth and fulfill the strategic vision. Market/ Segment Assessment: provide an understanding of the various biotechnology segments PhS can participate in based on external attractiveness factors and internal fit with PhS' capabilities and expertise. Conduct detailed quantitative and qualitative assessment of each opportunity, continually prioritize, and rank the best opportunities for effective resource allocation (15%) Innovation Management / Solutions Development: Organic growth will be a key element to the role, and as such, the individual will closely interact with the R&D team to brainstorm, evaluate, prioritize, and progress (via stage gate process) innovation ideas that can be internally advanced with in-house and external resources. The individual will also lead launch planning, market development efforts, and project management responsibilities for several new offerings and other associated new innovations developed in the segment (25%). Develop Business / Support exiting business: the individual will support the existing Novamatrix business and help drive customer pipeline. Using marketing and sales excellence practices help improve the size and quality of the customer pipeline, create/ implement promotional campaigns, and effectively develop new business while supporting current business (25%) Business case / Investment Case Justification: For the most attractive opportunities, deliver a detailed and actionable business / investment case measuring potential returns while outlining the market attractiveness and strategic fit with the division. It is expected the investment cases will be presented to the Business President and/or Leadership Team for review and approval (15%) Inorganic growth: The individual will monitor and maintain a list of potential M&A targets. Constant and thorough assessment - as well as direct contact with the M&A candidate(s) when appropriate - are expected from the role (10%). Leadership Team members and corporate group will support potential acquisition or JV partnerships as targeted/needed. Skunk / Flex Works: the individual is encouraged to use 10% discretionary time to pursue their own best ideas for innovation, skunk works, personal development, and our sustainability improvement in the assigned segment.
