Assistant Controller

Job Summary:

The Assistant Controller will support the Controller and finance team in managing and executing accounting operations for the manufacturing company. This role involves overseeing daily accounting tasks, maintaining accurate financial records, preparing financial statements, assisting in audits, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations. The Assistant Controller will also help optimize financial processes, support budgeting and forecasting activities, and provide critical insights for management.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Assist with monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closing processes and the preparation of financial statements.
  • Maintain general ledger accuracy, including reconciliation of accounts and management of journal entries.
  • Support Controller in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis.
  • Oversee accounts payable (AP) and accounts receivable (AR) functions to ensure timely processing.
  • Assist in internal and external audit processes and provide necessary documentation.
  • Implement and monitor internal controls to maintain compliance and safeguard assets.
  • Analyze and report on financial data to provide insights that drive business decisions.
  • Assist in developing financial policies, procedures, and systems to enhance accounting operations.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support overall business goals.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
  • CPA or CMA certification preferred.
  • 5+ years of experience in accounting, preferably in the manufacturing industry.
  • Big 4 or public accounting a plus.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and financial reporting standards.
  • Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft Excel.
  • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
  • Strong organizational and communication skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.

  • the individual's skill sets, experience and training;
