Job Purpose

The Process Engineer is responsible for overseeing and optimizing manufacturing processes related to the production, inspection and packaging of battery related products. The process engineer is also responsible for the design, implementation and improvement of manufacturing processes. The process engineer will support ongoing activities by assisting in troubleshooting mechanical problems, process problems and identifying improvements in operations to minimize interruptions, maximize utilization and supporting new and ongoing projects. This position will further assist in the management and planning of project budgets and schedules and will also provide contractor oversight.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
  • Serve as the SME (subject matter expert) on controlled manufacturing processes.
  • Optimize manufacturing processes
  • Design and implement process improvements to enhance product quality, yield and efficiency.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including manufacturing and quality assurance to support manufacturing activities.
  • Drive continuous improvement and develop manufacturing standards.
  • Be able to understand Process Flow, Process Improvement, and Ergonomics.
  • Project management experience preferred.
  • 5 years manufacturing experience preferred.

MUST be able to read, understand and speak English effectively.

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience: BS degree or equivalent experience in engineering. 3 - 5+ years' experience working in a manufacturing environment. 3+ years of direct project management experience.

Language Skills: College level written and verbal English skills

Mathematical Skills: College level Geometry, Algebra, and Trigonometry

Reasoning Ability: Strong Root cause and abstract problem solving, visualization and quality tools

Computer Skills: Microsoft Office programs

Certificates, Licenses, Registrations: Lean, Six Sigma or project management certification helpful

Other Skills and Abilities: Planning, analytical, assertive, and interact with various groups

Other Qualifications:

Strong understanding of manufacturing procedures/operations and product design

Applicable to all above engineering disciplines:
Process Failure Modes and Effects Analysis, Control Plans, Root Cause Analysis
