Position Summary

The Senior Accountant is responsible for maintaining the accuracy of ledgers, financial reporting, and budgeting of assigned departments/locations. Serves as a resource and guide to colleagues and assigned departments/locations.

$50,599 - $77,000 annually

Essential Functions (approximate time spent)



  • Maintain accurate ledgers, financial reporting, and budgeting of assigned departments/locations (30%).
  • Prepare timely financial statements and assist with budgeting (30%).
  • Counsel and report to stakeholders with respect to financial matters (20%).
  • Act as a resource regarding complex financial transactions and reporting/tracking of funding (10%).
  • Assist with preparation for audits and consolidation of financial statements (5%).
  • Assist with the development of internal accounting procedures and training of finance staff (5%).



Education and Experience



  • Bachelor's degree in accounting. In lieu of degree, relevant experience may be considered.
  • Four years of accounting experience required, preference given to non-profit accounting.
  • Valid driver's license and meet MVR driver's qualifications highly preferred; and pass background checks.

  • Works with integrity, valuing honesty and diligence.



Working Conditions



  • Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift 30 pounds at a time.
  • Competency with PC, Microsoft Office, Adobe, General Ledgers, and standard office equipment required.
  • Must be able to communicate clearly in English, and work in person or on the phone for reasonable periods.
  • Professional environment; eligible for a remote-friendly work environment.

None.

Travel Requirements

Occasional travel by agency or personal vehicle may be necessary, if MVR cleared.
