Position Summary

Family Expectations is a nationally respected program for financially vulnerable parents around the birth of their child and has proven to increase relationship quality and stability for couples within the most rigorous research-designed studies. Family Expectations Solo is an accommodation of the couples program that provides relationship and parenting education to pregnant or recently pregnant individuals who are parenting without a partner. Critical to the success of the program is the Family Expectations Solo Educators that lead multi-session workshops.

The Family Expectations Solo Educator (FESE) provides leadership within the program through high quality, dynamic workshop facilitation, structured coaching of proven skills, engagement of participants in group and individual activities, and provision of group-case management to include the sharing of information about community resources. This FESE will also provide oversight to additional trained coaches during skills practice sessions to occur during the workshop sessions. The FESE will form a working alliance with FE Solo participants to increase their active knowledge about family success, build their capacity to deploy a range of skills to improve family life, gain access to additional resources to meet their family needs, and support meaningful behavior change that will have a positive impact on both their children and themselves as an individual.
