Job Description

As one of the top Skyworks design centers, Skyworks Cedar Rapids design center has leading R&D and product development capabilities. It is seeking engineering talent with expertise in RF/microwave, RFIC design, and PA product development to meet rapidly increasing customer demand.

Responsibilities include directing, leading and managing the technical activities in one or more engineering disciplines. Evaluates final results of research and development projects to assure accomplishment of technical objectives. Selects, develops and evaluates personnel to ensure the efficient operation of the function.

The successful candidate will be part of a multi-discipline team developing front-end module for the high volume and fast paced cellular handset market. Candidates will have opportunities to participate in all phases of product development, including product definition, architecture, system budget, transistor-level circuit design, MCM design, layout/layout supervision, lab debug and production support.

Required Qualifications

* Bachelors Degree in Electrical Engineering + 15 years experience or MSEE + 13 years experience

* Lead RF front end module design using EDA tools such as Cadence Virtuoso, Keysight ADS, and HFSS

* Relevant experience in multi-chip module (MCM), PA, LNA, RF switch design or passive circuit design such as integrated passive device, coupler and balun.

* Strong circuit simulation skills utilizing Agilent ADS/, 2.5/3D EM tools such as Momentum/EMX/Sonnet, HFSS/CST and Cadence and ability to translate between the translate between the model, simulation, physical implementation, and measured performance.

* Strong lab skills in data collection/analysis, lab debug/tuning and product troubleshooting.

* Create and execute product development plans including design, simulation, layout, and verification testing

* Plan and support test and measurement for evaluation of prototype designs. Document and summarize design data to support team members

* Provide technical leadership in all phases of product development such as product definition, feasibility, and product design

* Conducting peer reviews of designs, including expected and/or actual results

Preffered Qualifications

  • Good understanding of MIPI standard
  • Bring products from conception to full production release
  • Manage, train, and mentor a team of RF design engineers
  • Good communication skills both verbal and written and logic reasoning skills, capable of breaking down complex problems, setting priorities, report progress and execute to schedule
  • Encourage both technical and professional development, improve design flows and processes

Referral Bonus Program Reward (if eligible):$6,000.00

The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is currently USD$139,100 -$278,300 per year. Starting base pay will depend on relevant experience and skills, training and education, business needs, market demands, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different base pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S. Benefits include access to healthcare benefits (including a premium-free medical plan option), a 401(k) plan and company match, an employee stock purchase plan, paid time off (including vacation, sick/wellness, parental leave), among others. Employees are eligible to participate in an incentive plan, and certain roles are also eligible for additional awards, including recognition and stock.
