Your role and responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to develop and maintain a highly effective sales channel strategy for a specified market (Eastern USA Region) to improve ABB's market penetration and achieve its growth aspirations. Each day, you will plan and ensure the execution of the Robotics & Discrete Automation - Machine Automation business area sales strategy to achieve both qualitative and quantitative targets for the assigned channel in a profitable way with a focus on new orders, revenues, growth, margin, market share, sales productivity, and customer satisfaction. You will also showcase your expertise by leading, developing, and coaching the related Channel Sales organization.
The work model for the role is: #LI - Remote
The ideal candidate will live within one hour of either Boston, MA. or Alpharetta GA. Must also live with-in one hour of a major airport.
This role is contributing to the Robotics & Discrete Automation - Machine Automation division in the Eastern US territory with up to 50% travel. Main stakeholders are our channel partners and distributers.
You will be mainly accountable for:
*Defining and implementing the specified market channel sales strategy, in accordance with the marketing and sales strategy, being a technical point of contact by mastering product knowledge, assisting in both pre and post sales support, and ensuring customer retention.
*Implementing annual performance assessments and forecast processes for channel partners.
*Ensuring appropriate communication, promotion, and training activities are in place for our channel partners.
*Designing the policies and relevant standards (e.g., market segmentation, customer due diligence, cybersecurity) to be used globally for channel partner evaluation and certification.

Qualifications for the role
  • Bachelor's Degree in Engineering: preferably BSEE, BME, BSME, BSCS, or business or related discipline, or equivalent experience.
  • 2+ years of directly related experience in technical sales, Industrial automation and controls systems (ideally 4-6 yrs of related experience).
  • Deep understanding of the products, including features, benefits, and applications and a will-ingness to continue product training ongoing.
  • Strong sales skills, including the ability to identify customer needs, present solutions, and close deals., sales processes, strategies, and techniques.
  • Up to 50% travel, mostly in the region with occasional other domestic and international travel; valid driver's license and passport with no barriers to travel.

While base salary is determined by things such as the successful applicant's qualifications and experience, this position is expected to pay between $86,500 and $160,500 annually and is bonus eligible.
