and are currently seeking a Paralegal / Legal Secretary in Lafayette, LA, who is eager to grow within a professional setting. Our client specializes in delivering customized legal services to clients across Louisiana and Texas. The ideal candidate will possess 3-5 years of experience as a legal secretary or paralegal. 1st Shift Hours: 8 am - 5 pm, Monday - Friday

Pay: $18.26-$20.19 per hour (Based on experience)

Paralegal / Legal Secretary responsibilities:



  • Enhance effectiveness by keeping cases organized, monitoring calendars, and providing timely reminders.
  • Open files, close files, and assist with conflict checks.
  • Handling incoming/outgoing mail and incoming/outgoing faxes.
  • Transcription of electronic dictation.
  • Preparation of correspondence and pleadings.
  • Electronic filing with both State and Federal court systems.
  • Maintaining all documents in the firm's document management system electronically.
  • Entering attorney time into the firm's time and billing system.
  • Maintaining a good working rapport with clients.


Qualifications: The ideal candidate for this position should possess 3-5 years of experience as a legal secretary or paralegal, demonstrating a solid foundation in legal office operations. They must exhibit exceptional organizational and time management skills, adept at handling multiple tasks and deadlines simultaneously. Strong verbal and written communication abilities are essential, along with proficiency in reporting and legal administrative tasks. Building and maintaining client relationships should be a natural strength, alongside the capability to efficiently schedule and manage appointments. Attention to detail is paramount, coupled with excellent typing and proofreading skills to ensure accuracy in all documentation. Upholding confidentiality with the utmost professionalism and dependability is crucial in this role. Proficiency in software applications like MS Word, Outlook, Adobe, and Excel is expected, enabling seamless workflow management in a fast-paced legal environment.
