The UM School of Medicine Department Medical Research Office

Job Description

This position provides fiscal leadership to the UM School of Medicine clinical research/trials infrastructure by providing clinical research/trial budget builds, budget fiscal review and necessary adjustments to ensure costs are recovered by industry, industry sponsor negotiation and justification of costs, post-award account review and reconciliation assistance, oversight, management, advice/answers to queries and training during the pre-and post-award period.

1. Review clinical research/trial budgets prior to negotiation, followed by detailed requests to department to ensure costs are covered with industry sponsors when applicable
2. Building new clinical research/trial internal budgets and ensure they align with sponsor budget
3. Clinical research/trial industry sponsor budget negotiations
4. Preparing training items/research for training depts
5. Post-award account review and reconciliation assistance
6. Ensure research staff/faculty facing financial Teams content is up to date

Shift

Shift Type: 8:00AM - 5:00PM, Monday - Friday
Office/Administrative Hours: Yes - Position will have Office/Admin Hours
Flexibility for Alternative Schedules: Yes

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or an equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Anticipated Hiring Range

Hiring Range: $21.28 - $25.00 per hour
