College of Engineering Department's Website: https://mechanical-engineering.uark.edu/ Summary of Job Duties: The Mechanical Engineering Departmental Chairperson is responsible for providing intellectual and philosophical leadership of the faculty, staff, and students for synergistic teaching, research, and service programs; managing and coordinating the department's human and fiscal resources; serving as liaison for the department to the college; representing the department to state and federal agencies, private organizations, partners and collaborators, and key industry groups; and providing leadership for continued acquisition of internal and external resources. Regular, reliable, and non-disruptive attendance is an essential job duty, as is the ability to create and maintain collegial, harmonious working relationships with others.
