Position Summary
The Licensed Clinical Assessor is responsible for completing intake and orientation, including a comprehensive clinical assessment for each youth. Works directly with youth, family and treatment providers in the development of the initial care plan.

Essential Job Duties



  • Schedule and facilitate intake and orientation for youth (may be performed in homes, community, or AMIkids office),
  • Complete comprehensive clinical assessments meeting AMIkids and state guidelines; share findings with youth/family/care givers,
  • Create and maintain accurate documentation of eligibility and authorizations in electronic health records, include pre-authorization, authorization tracking, and re-authorizations, and discharge notifications,
  • Develop supportive relationships and communicate effectively with youth/families/care givers, and community partners/resources,
  • Provide consistent and accurate communication with treatment team, billing/finance department, and to youth, families and referral sources,
  • Conduct ongoing Individualized Care Plan reviews aligned with each youth's identified needs,
  • Participate in treatment team meetings and staff meetings to maintain open communication and for the dissemination of information,
  • Maintain documentation related to services aligned with established guidelines,
  • Attend required training/professional development events and maintain appropriate certification(s) and license(s),
  • Attend and maintain appropriate crisis intervention/de-escalation training and certification as defined by state and contract requirements,
  • Attend and maintain CPR and First Aid certification by nationally recognized organization,
  • Assist with special projects and other duties as assigned.


Minimum Education, Training and Experience



  • Master's degree in a social services discipline; preferably in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or other Human Service-related field,
  • Minimum two (2) year experience working in the behavioral health treatment field,
  • Possess state approved license in one of the following:

    • Clinical Psychology
    • Professional Counseling
    • Social Work
    • Marriage and Family Therapy


  • Ability to travel to neighboring cities within catchment area.
