Job Summary

In the Global Regulatory Affairs (GRA) team we have an opening for a Regulatory Manager to drive regulatory activities for our Functional Ingredients (FI) business.
IFF's FI represents one of the industry's broadest and most flexible portfolio of food ingredients and additives.
The Regulatory Manager is responsible for leading expertise for the development and maintenance of our FI products within the region. This role includes regulatory leadership focusing on the FI products and involvement in product registrations and direct agency interaction within the region, and as applicable, with other agencies. This role will lead regulatory support to regional customers directly and can be actively engaged in regional industry associations.

This role is responsible for the management of product registration and formula
compliance or product safety and risk assessment within a given region and business
unit segment. In addition to expectations of the Manager (Expert) role, this role reflects a
higher level of responsibility that emphasizes more regional and/or global support of IFF
business units.

Responsibilities:
STRATEGY & BUSINESS KNOWLEDGE 30 %
*Understands the overall role of GRA both internally as well as in relation to
contractors, regulatory authorities and trade associations.
*Contributes to the strategy setting for relevant GRA field of expertise;
articulates and executes GRA Strategy.
*Understands the framework of regulations, product claims or certifications
which are applicable to a broad range of customer requirements and
applications.
*Executes strategy created by the GRA leadership
ROLE KEY RESPONSIBILITIES 40 %
*Leads an interdisciplinary team, and collaborates within teams.
*Manages product and formula compliance within the North America region and business unit segment.
*Ensures alignment between IFF business units and local/regional/global regulations governing the commercial use of ingredients.
*Provides cost effective service to the business unit covering all product compliance/regulatory aspects such as: regulatory compliance reviews, data updates, customer guidance, IFF management guidance, and documentation.

TECHNICAL KNOWLEDGE, IFF TOOLS 30 %
*Provides both, guidance and mentoring to others.
*Demonstrates advanced system/regulatory expertise to facilitate meeting regulatory needs (e.g. customer requests, regulatory changes and requirements) efficiently and effectively.
*Spots potential issues and raise concerns regarding relevant topics.
*Understands legislation, customer restrictions and trade association agreements with regards to material issues.
*Provides technical support such as maintaining regulatory communications;
*Creating specialized reports such as regulatory reports.
Job requirements:
*Educational and experience Requirement
*Doctorate degree plus 9 years experience.
Or Masters degree plus 12+ years experience.
Or Bachelors degree plus 15+ years experience.
