Here is what you will be doing each day:

As a Hair Stylist, your responsibilities will include:



  • Consult with clients to understand their hair care needs, preferences, and desired results.
  • Provide expert advice on hair care products, techniques, and maintenance.
  • Cut, trim, and shape hair according to clients' specifications or based on your professional judgment.
  • Perform hair coloring services, including highlights, lowlights, balayage, and corrective color treatments.
  • Style hair for everyday wear or special occasions such as weddings and events.
  • Offer hair treatments such as deep conditioning, keratin treatments, and scalp treatments.
  • Stay updated on the latest hair trends, techniques, and products.
  • Maintain a clean and sanitized work environment, adhering to health and safety standards.
  • Build and maintain a strong client base by offering excellent service and personalized recommendations.
  • Upsell salon products and services to enhance the client's experience.
  • Participate in ongoing training and workshops to further develop your skills.


Qualifications:



  • Valid state cosmetology license.
  • Proven experience as a Hair Stylist, with a portfolio of work to demonstrate your expertise.
  • Knowledge of a variety of hair types, textures, and styling techniques.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage time effectively.
  • Creativity, attention to detail, and a passion for hair care and beauty.
  • Ability to stand for extended periods of time.
  • Team player with a positive attitude.


Preferred Skills:



  • Experience with hair extensions, wigs, or specialty styles.
  • Knowledge of current hair trends and ability to adapt to clients' evolving needs.
  • Familiarity with salon software and appointment booking systems.

For applicants who will be working in NYC, the anticipated compensation range for the position is $16.00 per hour; for applicants who will be working in New York, the anticipated compensation range for the position is $16.00 per hour. The salary offered to a successful candidate will be dependent on several factors that may include but are not limited to years of experience within the job, years of experience within the required industry, education, work location, etc. Crescent Hotels is a multi-state employer and the salary ranges indicated herein may not reflect positions that work only in other states.
