Varian is seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Quality Technician with experience in equipment calibration activities. As a Quality Technician, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest standards of quality, accuracy, and compliance are maintained throughout our operations. Your primary focus will be on supporting quality systems and calibration processes to guarantee the safety and effectiveness of our medical devices.

What You will do:
  • Assist in the implementation, maintenance, and improvement of quality management systems in accordance with applicable regulations and standards.

  • Support the development and review of Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs), work instructions, and other quality-related documents.

  • Maintain documentation, records, and databases related to quality management systems.

  • Define, perform, and coordinate calibration and verification activities for measuring and test equipment used in the manufacturing and testing of medical devices.

  • Maintain calibration records, track equipment status, and initiate calibration and repair activities as needed.

  • Investigate out of tolerance calibration events, initiate corrective actions, and communicate with relevant stakeholders.

  • Review of manufacturing records, inspection and acceptance testing results, device history records, and batch records.

  • Collect, analyze, and interpret quality data, including non-conformance reports, calibration records, and inspection results.

  • Prepare clear and concise reports, charts, and graphs to communicate quality-related information to management and stakeholders.

  • Assist in trending analysis and identification of areas for improvement based on data-driven insights.

  • Support the generation and review of quality metrics and Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) to monitor the effectiveness of quality systems.

  • Identify non-conformances and initiate appropriate corrective & preventive actions.

  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address quality-related issues and implement process improvements.

  • Participate in internal and external audits to ensure compliance with quality standards.

  • Other activities as assigned.

Your Environmental and Physical Demands:
  • Split time between an office, cleanroom, electrical, mechanical, and chemical laboratory environments.

  • Wear and work in cleanroom attire or personal protective equipment as needed.

  • Some work requires raising, lowering, moving, or manipulation of medium equipment.

  • Some work requires picking, pinching, fine manipulation or otherwise working primarily with fingers rather than the whole hand or arm.

What You will have:
  • Associate Degree in Technical field or equivalent
  • 1-3 years of calibration or metrology experience in a highly regulated industry
  • Understanding of calibration and metrology activities using various measuring and test equipment.
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy in conducting inspections, measurements, and review of documentation (e.g., certificates, manufacturing records, and quality records).
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to apply analytical thinking to quality-related issues.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills to effectively collaborate with cross-functional teams and report on quality-related matters.
  • Adherence to safety protocols, quality guidelines, and regulatory requirements
  • Excellent work ethic.
  • Familiarity with statistical analysis and data interpretation techniques is beneficial.
  • Adaptable and should maintain a safe, fast-paced and positive attitude in a manufacturing environment.
What will set You apart:
  • ASQ Certified Calibration Tech, Quality Tech or Quality Inspector certifications.
  • Pharmaceutical, Biomedical or Medical Device industry experience.
  • Understanding of quality management systems, regulations, and standards applicable to the medical device industry (e.g., ISO 13485, FDA QSR).
