Job Description

The Controller works directly with the CEO and is responsible for managing the financial operations of the company, including accounting, financial reporting, management reporting, budgeting, forecasting, and internal controls. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in finance and accounting within the manufacturing industry and will ensure the accuracy and integrity and controllership of financial information.


The Controller works closely with Hexatronic Group Finance in meeting the financial reporting, planning and forecasting requirements of Rochester Cable as part of a publicly listed company.

The Controller works closely with local Operations personnel in providing insight, analysis and recommendations for improvements that will support reductions in costs of poor quality and BOM accuracy.

Essential Job Functions


  • Financial Management:

    • Oversee the preparation of financial statements, including balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
    • Ensure timely and accurate financial reporting in compliance with IFRS and company policies.
    • Manage the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing processes.
    • Prepare and analyze budgets, forecasts, and financial plans.
    • Prepare and analyze management reporting including manufacturing p&ls, product line p&ls and department p&ls
    • Monitor financial performance and provide variance analysis.
    • Develop and maintain financial policies and procedures.
    • Coordinate and oversee annual physical inventory


  • Accounting Operations:

    • Supervise the accounting team, including accounts payable, accounts receivable, and general ledger.
    • Ensure accurate and timely processing of all financial transactions.
    • Implement and maintain internal controls to safeguard company assets.
    • Coordinate external audits and provide necessary information to auditors.
    • Ensure compliance with tax regulations and filings.


  • Cost Management:

    • Monitor and control manufacturing costs, including raw materials, labor, and overhead.
    • Conduct cost-benefit analysis and recommend cost-saving measures.
    • Analyze production variances and implement corrective actions.


  • Financial Analysis:

    • Conduct financial analysis to support strategic decision-making.
    • Prepare financial models and scenarios to assess the impact of business decisions.
    • Provide financial insights and recommendations to all levels of management within Rochester Cable, Harsh Environment and Hexatronic Group


  • Governance, Compliance and Risk Management:

    • Ensure compliance with all relevant financial regulations and standards.
    • Identify and mitigate financial risks.
    • Develop and implement risk management policies and procedures.
    • Manage, monitor and control Capital Requests


  • Team Leadership:

    • Lead and mentor the finance and accounting team.
    • Foster a culture of continuous improvement and professional development.
    • Promote collaboration and effective communication within the team and with other departments.




Requirements

  • Please note: This position requires access to information which is subject to stringent controls under the International Traffic in Arms Regulations (ITAR) or Export Administration Regulations (EAR), as such, applicants must be a U.S. person defined as a citizen, national, U.S. lawful permanent resident, person granted asylee status in the U.S., or person admitted into the U.S. as a refugee.
  • Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
  • CPA or CMA preferred.
  • Minimum of 7-10 years of experience in accounting or finance, with at least 5 years in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP, IFRS and financial reporting standards.
  • Proficiency in the use of financial software and ERP systems
  • Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
  • Strong leadership and team management abilities.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
  • High level of integrity and attention to detail.


Work Environment/Physical Demands:

While performing this job's duties, the employee is regularly required to sit, stand, walk, use hands to type, write, drive, or use tools; reach with hands and arms; talk and hear. The employee must occasionally lift and move 15 to 25 pounds. The employee must demonstrate the ability to meet these physical demands within their 60-day probationary period.
