Job Description:

Tests raw materials and fabricates coated electrode, sub-arc fluxes, and flux-cored formulations as required by the R&D engineering staff. Supports R&D engineers by providing verbal and/or written reports on the results of trial formulations. This position will report into the Senior Manager Research & Development in our Hanover, PA facility.

Key Duties & Responsibilities

  • Perform all necessary job assignments from weigh-up through fabrication and packaging.
  • and identification of all lab trial formulations.
  • Test physical properties of experimental raw materials.
  • Maintain the inventory of all supplies, both steel and raw materials needed to produce.
  • R&D formulations.
  • Responsible for keeping SDS sheets and HMIS labeling of all lab code materials up to
  • date.
  • Assist with issuing experimental numbers for new raw material sources to be tested in the
  • R&D lab.
  • Assist with issuing and maintaining the purchasing specifications for both steel and raw.
  • materials.
  • Assist for issuing production trial runs to the plant to test new formulations or new
  • sources of materials.
  • Assist with basic weld testing for R&D projects.
  • Maintain lab extrusion and wire fab/drawing equipment.
  • Must maintain confidentiality of all work, projects, materials, processes, data, etc.
  • Perform other various duties throughout the lab as needed.
  • Adhere to all safe work practices and/or safety policies.
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
  • Minimum of High School diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3-5 years' experience on the job or in a related field.
  • Job related experience with filler metal manufacturing preferred.
  • Basic working knowledge of computer systems with Microsoft Office suite.
  • Ability to safely operate mechanical equipment.
  • Self-motivated and willing to take on other responsibilities throughout the lab.
  • Requires ability to work very accurately with numbers.
  • Works well with others in a team atmosphere.

Pay Range:

$49,846.00-$57,675.00
