We are looking for a Global Head, Data Acquisition Strategy to join us in our leading our global data acquisition team based out of Atlanta, GA or Raleigh, NC

About the role
The Global Head, Data Acquisition Strategy will be responsible for driving significant business impact through a well-designed data acquisition strategy focused on our key company assets and launches, as well as enabling our data assets for analytics teams across the organization. They will develop a clear vision, strategic plan, and operating model to develop data strategies supporting all therapeutic areas in various stages of their life cycle, from development to commercialization, as well as the overall portfolio.

Who you'll work with
This position will play a key role as UCB aims to create a new global data acquisition team to improve our data acquisition strategy and meet the current and future data needs of various therapeutic areas and patient populations. By prioritizing the acquisition of high-quality healthcare data, UCB aims to drive better decision-making and improve patient outcomes. The global data acquisition team will act as centralized center of expertise aimed at supporting the evolving UCB portfolio through innovative data solutions. The team areas of focus will include:

  • Sourcing healthcare data from a variety of reliable sources, including patient-level claims, electronic medical records (EMR), laboratories, genetics, prescribers, etc. to maximize data value realization
  • Leading the implementation of scalable data platforms and solutions, such as data tokenization, to enable new capabilities across the enterprise.
  • Enhancing cross-functional efficiencies by maximizing data utilization, sharing expertise across different functions, and applying insights from various use cases throughout the product lifecycle.

What you'll do

  • Lead a team of data business strategy therapeutic area specialists and data partnership specialists to ensure data acquisitions are planned for maximum value realization and in alignment with UCB requirements and objectives
  • Build a highly effective Data Acquisition Team and define the overall vision, operating model, processes, roles and responsibilities for the team; coach and mentor team members
  • Ensure our long-term data strategy needs are properly enabled by our internal and external data partners
  • Engage with senior stakeholders to promote data strategy and data utilization and provide expertise in the area of data strategy throughout all stages of product development and commercialization
  • Oversee ongoing landscape scanning activities to understand the evolution of the global healthcare data ecosystem and ensure UCB resources and relationships with external data providers are properly managed
  • Maintain a comprehensive understanding of the healthcare data landscape and internal data assets (such as patient-level claims, EMR, labs, genetics, prescribers, and sales) along with a solid understanding of analytic applications and methodologies.
  • Partner with global business stakeholders, including Real-World Evidence (RWE), advanced analytics, translational medicine, medical leads, asset leads, and regional commercial stakeholders within the therapy area to define and prioritize use cases and data requirements, and develop a deep understanding of business needs
  • Lead the team in the creation of comprehensive short- and long-term data roadmaps to support individual therapeutic areas and the overall portfolio
  • Partner with IT and Global data office to define a data platforms strategy that serves the long-term needs of the organization, including the development of key capabilities such as tokenization
  • Foster close relationships with the Global Data Office, purchasing/finance, and IT to align priorities, encourage collaboration, and optimize contracting, compliance, and external relationships.

Interested? For this role we're looking for the following education, experience and skills

  • Bachelors Degree
  • Master/Doctor's degree in quantitative area is preferred
  • 5+ years experience in advising companies on data acquisition strategy for pre and post launch applications
  • 7+ years experience working with various forms of pharmaceutical data
  • 7+ years of experience leading and inspiring teams
  • Expertise in healthcare data, particularly, patient level claims data and HCP level data, US and ex US.

This positions reasonably anticipated base salary range is $255,000 - $298,000. The actual salary offered will take into account related knowledge, skills, experience and location among other factors and may fall outside the expected range.
