Minimum Qualifications:

With submitted materials, the candidate must demonstrate

• A doctoral degree in geography or a related discipline from an accredited institution of higher education conferred by the start of employment

• A demonstrated ability to teach at the undergraduate and graduate levels

• A demonstrated ability to develop an independent, externally funded research program

Preferred Qualifications:

• An active research agenda that concentrates on dendrochronology and climatology, a field research focus on proxy data development, and expertise in the analysis of instrumental and proxy hydroclimate data

• A demonstrated commitment to teaching classes at the undergraduate and graduate level that complement the current course catalog and to mentoring students by directing or serving on thesis and dissertation committees

• Demonstration of collegiality and ability to excel in collaborative environments

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities (KSAs):

• Proven knowledge/expertise in the dating method of dendrochronology (tree-ring dating)

• Proven knowledge/expertise in modern climatology and paleoclimatology, including the temporal and spatial analysis of modern and paleoclimate data

• Knowledge/expertise in the time series analysis of tree-ring and instrumental climate data
