JOB TITLE:

Open Rank Tenure-Track Professor of Accounting

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

The Department of Accounting and Finance in the College of Business at the University of Wyoming invites applications for an open rank tenure-track position in Accounting beginning Fall 2025. We invite applicants with qualifications to teach and conduct research in any accounting discipline. The current teaching needs include tax and/or financial accounting at the graduate level.

Successful candidates will be expected to contribute to the strong teaching reputation of the department's faculty and publish high-quality peer-reviewed research in accounting and closely related fields.

REMOTE WORK ELIGIBILITY:

This position provides vital support to campus customers and requires the successful candidate be available to work on campus.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Ph.D. in Accounting or closely related field from an AACSB accredited program in hand by start date of employment
  • Demonstrated potential for research publication in high-quality accounting journals
  • Three or more years of university teaching experience in accounting or having completed a Ph.D within the last three years

DESIRED QUALIFICATIONS:
  • Evidence of on-going high-quality research productivity
  • Demonstrated excellence in teaching
  • CPA license
  • Commitment to departmental, college, university, and professional service

THE COLLEGE OF BUSINESS:

The University of Wyoming College of Business (http://www.uwyo.edu/business/) is AACSB accredited and is located in a state-of-the-art, Leeds-certified building. The College currently offers undergraduate degrees in accounting, economics, entrepreneurship, finance, management, marketing, and professional sales. The College offers Master of Business Administration degrees, master's degrees in accounting, economics, and finance, and Ph.D. degrees in marketing and economics. It is one of 10 member schools of the Daniels Fund Ethics Initiative College Program. THE DEPARTMENT OF ACCOUNTING AND FINANCE:

The Department of Accounting and Finance offers bachelor's and master's degrees in each discipline. The Accounting and Finance faculty have published in high-quality accounting journals such as Accounting Horizons, Auditing: A Journal of Practice and Theory, Behavioral Research in Accounting, Contemporary Accounting Research, Journal of Accounting Auditing and Finance, Journal of the American Taxation Association, Journal of Banking and Finance, Journal of Financial Economics, Journal of International Accounting Research, Journal of Management Accounting Research, Review of Finance, and Review of Financial Studies.
