Job Description

OVERVIEW

Hannibal is a manufacturing facility of approximately 1000 employees serving the Meals & Baking Solutions (MBS) and Snacks Operating Units. We operate in a dynamic business environment, with a rich history of performance and growth. We have a diverse and complex product portfolio that ranges from USDA thermally processed canned soups to allergen management on chewy bars. In fiscal 2023, Hannibal produced +70MM cases across 7 platforms and 17 production lines.

The Hannibal Plant is seeking a Manufacturing Manager to provide manufacturing leadership to deliver a world-class operation. This position will be scoped to assume accountabilities for both the OEP Tortilla and Seasoning departments in Hannibal's Annex Plant. In addition to leadership of the Tortilla and Seasoning departments, the Department Manager will serve as a member of the Plant Leadership Team.

Within the scope, the Manufacturing Manager is responsible for leadership of Tortilla and Seasoning manufacturing production that consists of 4 Lines. The Manufacturing Manager will provide leadership accountability for the Platform Team, Shift Team Leaders, and ~100 operators. This role will require close connection with the Meals and Baking Solutions OU to execute critical business strategies and initiatives.

This role will have 5 direct reports and will have responsibility for providing the direction and development of ~100 team members within operations.

KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES

  • Provide Organizational Leadership in a Dynamic and Collaborative Environment
  • Provide business and technical leadership necessary to ensure both the department and facility meet and/or exceed goals in critical manufacturing success areas (Cost, Quality, Sanitation, System Utilization, Customer Service, Health/Safety/Environment).
  • Establish and sustain effective relationships in order to foster an environment where innovation and cooperation are used to solve problems.
  • Develop team leaders and platform team members by providing coaching, support, direction, documented performance appraisals, and ongoing feedback.
  • Educate, develop and motivate a manufacturing work group to achieve outstanding production results.
  • Provide business leadership that demonstrates commitment to department and plant goals on a day to day basis.
  • Coach and model Engaging Leader behaviors to instill a culture of belonging and inclusion
  • Assume ownership for strategic initiatives and additional duties as assigned.
  • Drive Continuous Improvement and total employee involvement in critical success areas by empowering leaders and employees to utilize Driving SU methodologies

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelor's degree
  • Leadership experience in a manufacturing environment or other applicable experience
  • Strong leadership skills including the ability to effectively lead change
  • Ability to develop and lead strategic initiatives
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively engage with the floor including building positive employee relations and execution of manufacturing excellence.
  • Effectively delivered results through others by managing salaried employees and/or leading cross-functional teams
  • Solid business judgment including demonstrated problem-solving and troubleshooting skills
  • Demonstrated understanding of technology (i.e. complexities of products, machinery, and costs)
  • Strong financial analysis and resource allocation skills
  • Ability to develop and manage a budget

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Bachelors degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, Operations Management or Engineering
  • 5 years' experience in a manufacturing environment leading cross functional teams

  • International relocation or international remote working arrangements (outside of the US) will not be considered

Salary Range

The salary range for this position is $91900.00 - $138000.00 / Annually. At General Mills we strive for each employee's pay at any point in their career to reflect their experiences performance and skills for their current role. The salary range for this role represents the numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions including, but not limited to, educations, skills, work experience, certifications, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.
