What You'll Do

The NPD Engineering Intern will work with the NPD Engineering team on the mechanical design of a new MCX monochloramine analyzer and the mechanical design of an automated liquid fill line-bottle carrier system. Additionally, he/she will propose and detail a system for preventative maintenance of our production equipment and assist with the testing and evaluations in life cycle testing.

  • Work with the NPD team on a new instrument design, including evaluating new pumps, improving the optical system and ergonomic hardware of a lower cost MCX instrument.
  • Design and create a multiple bottle handling platform that fits with the existing bottle filling station.
  • Produce a process document of clear concise instructions for the operation of the equipment; then train to this document.
  • Work with NPD Engineers in the analysis and testing of prototype designs, and components and author test reports on these observations, findings and results.
  • Present on your internship learning and experience to the leadership team.

You Have:

  • Currently a sophomore or junior pursuing a bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering
  • Data analysis skills
  • Mechanical understanding, including the ability or knowledge of specific manufacturing tools, equipment, and machinery.
  • Experienced in identifying and analyzing problems, making recommendations and implementing solutions.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks, manage time effectively, and meet project deadlines.
  • Familiarity with CAD software, 3D modeling, 2D detailing and dimensional tolerancing.
  • Passionate about your work, with a genuine desire to contribute meaningfully and make an impact
  • Demonstrated commitment to integrity and respect in interactions with others, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment
  • Strong sense of accountability, taking ownership of tasks and following through on commitments
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States and do not require sponsorship now or in the future

While performing the responsibilities of this job, the employee is frequently required to walk, talk, and/or hear. The employee is occasionally required to stand, sit, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel. You must occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.

Work Environment:

Work in both office and manufacturing environment. May occasionally be required to perform job responsibilities outside the typical office setting.
