Job Description

We are looking for a dedicated Massage Therapist to join our spa therapy team and provide guests with exceptional treatments to promote relaxation and well-being. Responsibilities include consistently delivering high-quality treatments that create a sensory journey for guests, setting up treatment rooms according to procedures, and maintaining sanitation of work areas and equipment in compliance with state board guidelines. The role involves ensuring professional stock levels are maintained to reduce product waste, adhering to treatment schedules, and ensuring guests receive a completed prescription form after each service. Additionally, the Massage Therapist will strive to encourage upgrades and achieve minimum retail sales targets. The ideal candidate will be skilled in massage techniques, possess excellent customer service skills, and be able to work effectively in a spa environment. They should also be proficient in using basic office equipment such as computers, printers, and telephones.

Responsibilities

Essential Functions:

  • To work as part of the spa therapy team to consistently provide the highest possible standard of treatment, creating a sensory journey for guests helping them to rest, relax and regain a sense of balance and harmony in their lives.
  • Responsible for setting up the treatment rooms according to procedures and disposing of laundry in a timely basis.
  • Maintain sanitation of work area and equipment as required by state board guidelines.
  • Ensure all professional stock is being used in compliance with the PAR levels to assist with reduction in product waste.
  • To begin and end treatments at the published time and ensure correct procedures of all treatments are being followed at all times.
  • Ensure all guests depart with a completed prescription form after each and every service.
  • Strive to consistently encourage upgrades and produce a minimum of 10% in retail sales per day / week/ month.

Tools and Equipment:

  • Computer and printer, typewriter, telephone, pen/pencil, photo-copying machine, file folders, filing cabinet, facsimile machine.

Working Environment:

  • Interior of hotel, in normal SPA conditions.


Qualifications

  • Must possess excellent communication skills, both written and oral.
  • Must have the ability to work under pressure without letting that pressure show to the guest.
  • Must exhibit a sincere desire and ability to work well with people, assess their needs and be able to provide assistance.
  • Current State Massage License
  • 1 year of minimum experience in massage therapy
  • Maintain sanitation of work area and equipment as required by state board guidelines standard operating procedures.
  • Effective communicator
  • Excellent guest care, guest service and attention to detail
  • Flexible and cooperative
  • Able to sit, stand and walk up to 8 hours
  • Able to lift and carry up to 20 pounds
  • Must be available to work flexible hours, including weekends and holidays.
