What You Can Expect ENGIE North America is seeking a Chilled Water Systems Tech I for a critical role on our University of Iowa team. In this position, you will be responsible for safely and efficiently operating, as well as performing preventative maintenance and repair tasks on the chilled water plant(s). This role is essential for providing a high-quality experience for our clients. Reporting to the Chilled Water Plant Manager, this position is located on the beautiful University of Iowa campus in Iowa City, IA. Your day will begin with a safety or hand-off meeting, where you will be briefed on the status of the equipment and any issues that may have arisen during the previous shift. Following this, you will oversee the operation and maintenance of turbines, centrifugal chillers, pumps, electric motors, tower fans, and related equipment. Key responsibilities include assisting in the installation and repair of pressure piping for compressed air, water, steam, domestic water, condenser water, chilled water, and condensate. Additionally, you will support the general maintenance of equipment such as chiller tube bundles, heat exchangers, tower fans, gearboxes, drive shafts, pumps, valves, air compressors, and all other plant-related equipment. These tasks will require utilization of hoisting and rigging tools to move heavy equipment, and proper application of power and hand tools to perform repairs. Compensation Salary Range: $22.36 - $32.73 USD hourly This represents the average expected pay range for a qualified candidate. ENGIE complies with all federal, state, and local minimum wage laws. Actual offered salary may depend on geography, experience, industry knowledge, education, internal pay alignment, or other bona fide factors. In addition to base pay, this position is eligible for a competitive bonus / incentive plan and emergency or on-call pay.
