ACT Employment Specialist Position Summary

This position will primarily be assisting clients in identifying and acquiring full-time or part-time jobs of their choice. This position emphasizes that work/employment is not the result of treatment and recovery but is necessary to maintaining both mental wellness and recovery.

Responsibilities for ACT Employment Specialist



  1. Meet with referred clients to assess for employment needs, strengths, barriers, and assist in creating an individualized treatment plan based on the client's goals.
  2. Network and maintain positive working relationships with local businesses, social service organizations and state agencies and internal collaterals. Network to build new professional relationships with community stakeholders. Maintain an updated list of contacts in centralized database and share resources and employment leads with other agency providers.
  3. Provide education and support to employers as agreed upon by clients. May assist with request job accommodations on the client's behalf.
  4. Transport and accompany clients to job interviews and other appointments as appropriate.
  5. Assist clients in resume building and completing application. Additionally, work with Clients and their identified strengths to support their ability to accomplish tasks on their own.
  6. Assist clients with developing interview skills, job hunting/application processes, interview follow-up, and onboarding responsibilities.
  7. Provide after hours on-call on a rotating schedule with other team members.


Qualifications/Experience for ACT Employment Specialist

EDUCATION AND LICENSURE:

Required:

* Bachelor's degree in Social Work, Psychology, or human service field preferred. Equivalent work experience in the human services field, or a combination of work experience in the human services field and education, with one year of experience substituting for one year of education, may be considered.

EXPERIENCE:

Required: 6 months of volunteer or paid experience working with individuals in the community. Preferred: experience working with individuals with mental health issues.
