The Watts Internship Program is your chance to bring what you've learned in the classroom to life! You'll dive into real-world projects, gaining hands-on experience while learning how business really works from the inside. During the program, you'll get to roll up your sleeves and make an impact on day-to-day operations. Plus, you'll have tons of opportunities to network with passionate professionals across manufacturing, industrial engineering, and more-sparking new ideas through cross-department collaboration. It's all about expanding your skills, challenging yourself, and exploring where your ambitions can take you!

What You'll Do

The Human Resources Intern is responsible for various tasks including updating employee records, assisting with recruiting efforts, and supporting HR policies and procedure review. The HR Intern will also be involved in various employee engagement activities and events. Examples of projects may include:

  • Review Individual Development Plans for employees. Partner with the HR Manager and the Talent team to provide additional recommendations for talent development activities.

  • Research employee engagement ideas and activities. Partner with the HR Manager to host employee engagement events at the local site.

  • Partner with other HR Interns, such as the Communications Intern to lead initiatives related to our 2025 Summer Internship Program.

  • Co-lead the virtual 2025 Intern Appreciation Day Event. Co-lead your local 2025 Intern Appreciation Day at your site.

  • Partner with the HR Manager to review current interview processes for hourly employees. Make recommendations on additional best practices and improvements.

  • Complete an I-9 audit of I-9 files at the local site and flag any issues to the HR Manager for updating.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Current student (rising junior or senior) actively pursuing a bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Human Resources or similar.

  • Familiarity with HRIS.

  • Knowledge of basic HR principles

  • Passionate about your work, with a genuine desire to contribute meaningfully and make an impact

  • Demonstrated commitment to integrity and respect in interactions with others, fostering a positive and inclusive work environment

  • Strong sense of accountability, taking ownership of tasks and following through on commitments

  • Must be authorized to work in the United States and do not require sponsorship now or in the future

While performing the duties, the employee will be working in an office environment with exposure to a manufacturing setting. The employee is required to sit, stand, walk, and use hands to handle objects and other tools. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus. The Employee may be required to lift, push, and/or pull up to 20 pounds.

Pay range: $21-23/hour
