Shipping Receiving Supervisor

Shipping & Receiving Supervisor directs & coordinates through departmental leaders, activities relative to the warehouse and/or shipping operations. This position is responsible for continuous and efficient output in desired quality and quantity. Ensures objectives are met relative to safety, quality, and delivery.

• Oversee daily shipping operations to ensure timely and accurate deliveries.
• Manage and supervise the shipping team, providing guidance and support.
• Coordinate with other departments to ensure smooth workflow and communication.
• Monitor inventory levels and ensure adequate stock for shipping needs.
• Prepare and manage shipping / receiving documentation, including bills of lading and invoices.
• Ensure compliance with all relevant shipping regulations and company policies.
• Implement and maintain shipping / receiving best practices and procedures.
• Resolve any issues or discrepancies related to shipping and deliveries.
• Conduct regular performance evaluations and provide feedback to team members.
• Maintain a clean and organized shipping area.
• Track and report on shipping SQDCI metrics and performance.
• Develop and implement strategies to improve shipping efficiency and reduce costs.
• Ensure proper handling and storage of all shipped goods.
• Coordinate with carriers and pick-up and delivery schedules as needed.
• Provide training and development opportunities for shipping / receiving staff.
• Ensure all shipping equipment is properly maintained and in good working order.
• Stay updated on industry trends and changes in shipping regulations.
• Handle customer inquiries and complaints related to shipping.
• Ensure safety protocols are followed in the shipping area.
• Other duties as assigned by leadership.

• Proven experience as a Shipping Supervisor or similar role.
• Strong knowledge of shipping / receiving processes and best practices.
• Excellent organizational and time management skills.
• Ability to lead and manage a team effectively.
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• SAP software and Microsoft Office Suite experience is a plus.
• Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
• Knowledge of inventory management and control.
• Familiarity with shipping regulations and compliance requirements.
• Ability to lift and move heavy packages as needed.
• Strong analytical skills and ability to track and report on shipping metrics.
• To maintain a safe and organized work environment.
• Flexibility to work overtime, including evenings and weekends if needed.
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation.
• Be certified to operate the several types of forklifts used at CM Chattanooga.
• Have the ability to train and certify new hires on the operations of required forklifts.
• Willingness to stay updated on industry trends and changes.

• Two-year degree with equal emphasis on Supply Chain or Logistics or equivalent experience.
• 2+ years experience in distribution center preferred.
• Experience in Lean manufacturing preferred.
