Job Summary:
Under general direction, performs detailed research and analysis of costs associated with Company product manufacturing projects, departments and future ventures to support crucial Company business decisions, overall profitability and cost-reduction initiatives.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Responsible for performing the day- to-day general ledger accounting, financial reporting and analysis for assigned functional areas.
- Research and support Business Unit(s) inquiries.
- Act as Business Partner for assigned areas, providing all financial needs.
- Collects and analyzes data on costs on material and labor to evaluate efficiency and utilization of assigned functional areas.
- Routine communication with Supervisors relating to financial close, issues and deliverables.
- Responsible for month-end, quarter-end and year-end close activities.
- Research and prepare variance analysis and explanations.
- Responsible for the preparation and analysis of the periodic management reporting of financial results for assigned functional areas.
- Submission of financial results and variance analysis to Finance and Business Unit.
- Responsible for ad hoc analysis as needed.
- Assist in the Business Unit monthly, quarterly and financial reporting packages as applicable.
- Prepare journal entries related to assigned functional responsibilities.
- Cross train as back-ups for other staff in the case of emergencies.
- Review and research accounting transactions for functional area of responsibility.
- Supports bid and proposal activities as appropriate, including customer and DCAA fact finds.
- Supports Program Management to incorporate Budget Change Requests and revised EACs (Estimates at Completion) into forecasts and budgets.
- Supports tasks and other projects as assigned by management (e.g. inventory cycle count support).

Education and Experience:
Requires B.S. degree in Finance, Accounting or related field with emphasis on cost analysis and budgeting. Related post-graduate degree/coursework helpful. Requires 5+ years in aerospace cost analysis experience. EAC, CAS, and Earned Value Management System experience a plus

- Able to utilize timekeeping devices to measure cycle time and performance to time standards.
- Solid understanding of cost accounting, financial reporting and earned value reporting principles.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively manage multiple priorities.
- Experience must demonstrate effective interface with a variety of internal/external customers.
- Experience with financial reporting associated with Time and Material, Cost-Plus Incentive Fee, and Cost-Plus Fixed Fee Contracts a plus.
- Requires PC/Microsoft advanced proficiency (WORD, EXCEL, PowerPoint). Advanced proficiency with MRP software packages and databases also required.
