Catering Coordinator

Description The catering coordinator will provide a positive and friendly work environment, while communicating with catering cooks and catering manager on any food allergies and knowledge of meals being served and following proper sanitation and safety procedures.

This server coordinates with conference services for events, reconciles catering orders utilizing the CaterTrax system, and conducst weekly ordering and inventory of stock in relation to the upcoming events. They assist with placing orders through preferred vendors when inventory is low and work with preferred vendors on seasonal specials and items. They gather all equipment needed for any catering events and set up serving stations and decorations; this includes but is not limited to organizing catering retails for large events.

The role provides daily communication with C-suite and administration for restocking suites or any last-minute events. The incumbent is able to work independently and make quick decisions to ensure events meet the customers' expectations and vision and solve problems when it comes to customer service issues during catering service.
Qualifications

Minimum Education
High School Diploma or GED (Required)

Minimum Work Experience
5 years Related experience (Required)



  • Is able to receive, review, and process orders via our online catering ordering system (Catertrax)
  • Is able to meet with and field phone calls from C-suite level clients/guests to discuss their catering needs
  • Is able to communicate the food and beverage needs for catered events to the culinary team to produce
  • Is responsible for pulling together the equipment needed for catering service, setting up and delivering the service, and breaking down and cleaning up the service


Required Skills/Knowledge
Do basic mathematical calculations, read and comprehend basic English.
Lifting 50 lbs. Maximum, frequently lifting of 25 lbs.
Must be able to go into refrigerated/freezer areas for some supplies.

Required Licenses and Certifications
District of Columbia Board of Health Food Safety License (Required) ServSafe Certification (Required)

  • Review banquet event orders (BEO) for following day and make any changes needed.


  • Assist with hot food pre-preparation as needed.


  • Maintain and ensure food safety standards.

  • Maintain a clean, sanitary work environment throughout shift according to the standards of the department, hospital and regulatory agencies.


  • Utilize HACCP process during all aspects of food production.


  • Perform cleaning assignments as assigned.


Communication



  • Communicate to Management of any availability issues, equipment status, customer issues.


  • Communicate to management unresolved customer service issues within 24 hours.

  • Adhere to all department and hospital policies and procedures.


  • Maintain a professional image by adhering to department uniform guidelines.
