Application Window Open date: September 27, 2024 Next review date: Monday, Dec 2, 2024 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Final date: Thursday, Feb 20, 2025 at 11:59pm (Pacific Time) Position description The Magnetic Resonance Research Laboratories (MRRL) in the Department of Radiological Sciences at UCLA seeks to fill a project scientist position in both laboratories of Dr. Xiaodong Zhong and Dr. Paul Finn. This project scientist scholar will work under the guidance of Dr. Xiaodong Zhong and Dr. Paul Finn to collaborate with interdisciplinary teams, including physicist and physician faculty, postdoctoral and other project scientist scholars, clinical residents and fellows, and graduate student researchers in Radiological Sciences, the Ahmanson/UCLA Adult Congenital Heart Disease Center, and other departments in UCLA Health to develop, lead, and support research projects in the areas of MR pulse sequence development, image acquisition and reconstruction, data analysis, pre-clinical investigation, and clinical translation and evaluation, especially for applications in diagnosis, treatment planning and monitoring of cardiovascular diseases. This project scientist scholar will About UCLA MRRL: The MRRL currently has 10 faculty members and more than 30 staff, students, and post-doctoral research fellows from Radiological Sciences and other departments. The MRRL collaborates closely with clinicians and engineers at UCLA. The MRRL has access to five clinical research Siemens MRI systems (3T Vida, 3T Prisma, 3T Skyra, 1.5 T Sola, and 1.5T Avanto Fit systems), as well as a dedicated imaging research facility for pre-clinical studies (including one 3T Prisma), one MR/PET system (Siemens mMR) and one low-field system (Siemens FreeMax). Since then, it has been one of the largest facilities of its kind in the United States. The center provides clinical care to various types of congenital heart diseases. The center also has world-leading research and training programs.
