JOB TYPE Classification: Nonexempt Supervises Positions: No JOB SUMMARY The Lead CT Technologist will provide leadership and is responsible for the effective ongoing quality, productivity, and efficiency of the CT department. The Lead CT Technologist will assist physicians in the performance of diagnostic and/or therapeutic procedures by preparing the patient and operating the CT equipment in order to obtain diagnostic scans. The Lead CT Technologist will spend 90% of time in direct patient care. Patient Care: Ensures patient safety and comfort while in the radiology department.
Compliance: Follows and supports OSHA regulations and uses universal precautions when required.
Teamwork: Works within a team to achieve patient and team goals.
Technical Competency: Follows routine standards and properly and safely manipulates equipment, within its limitations, to obtain images.
The incumbent may be asked to perform additional duties as assigned. QUALIFICATIONS Education: High School Diploma or GED required. 2 Year/Associate's Degree preferred. Graduate of ARRT-approved Radiography Program required. Experience: Minimum of 2 years of experience in CT required. Refer to the Life Support Training Policy for additional details. Licensure: Certified and registered by ARRT in Radiography and CT - RT(R)(CT) required. Additional Skills/Requirements Required: Thorough knowledge of policies and procedures, computer/information systems, equipment used in performing assigned duties, application of safety and infection control policies and procedures. Possesses abilities in team building, decision making, and conflict management. Able to perform and assist others with procedures and direct CT workflow. Applies advanced skills in area of specialization. Adapts procedures, protocols, techniques and equipment to meet special needs. Additional Skills/Requirements Preferred: Proven leadership attributes through knowledge of CT procedures and operations. PHYSICAL DEMANDS Physical Demand Code: 13A, Imaging Work Function/Activity: Medium to Heavy Physical Demand The job requires standing for prolonged periods, frequently traveling and reaching (overhead, extensive, repetitive). Proficient communicative, auditory, and visual skills. Attention to detail and ability to write legibly. Ability to lift/push/pull up to 100 lbs.
