The Adult Cystic Fibrosis (CF) Nurse Program Coordinator is the single point of contact to CF patients and caregivers. The CF Nurse Program Coordinator is responsible for maintaining the Adult CF program as well as ensuring that the program meets the CF Foundation requirements for certification. This individual is responsible for various tasks including but not limited to managing the PF patient panel of 130 patients, serving as the main point of contact to triage patients, coordinating and scheduling appointments, attending weekly CF meetings, care coordination, etc.

**At least 1 year of pulmonary experience is required**

The Nurse Program Coordinator coordinates activities and functions of a designated program to ensure that goals and objectives specified to the program are accomplished in accordance with established priorities, time limitations or other specifications.

This job is intended for positions with incumbents that have responsibility for a particular program. A program provides a specific service or carries out specific activities as a component program within a department. Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for Hire:
Current RN licensure in Virginia or eligible or compact state
Licensure, Certification, or Registration Requirements for continued employment:
Current RN licensure in Virginia AHA BLS HCP certification or equivalent
Experience REQUIRED:
Minimum of five (5) years of clinical nursing experience with at least one (1) year in a progressive leadership or supervisory role
Experience PREFERRED:
Previous experience in staff education and professional development (orientation, preceptor ship, in-services education, etc.)
Previous experience in an academic healthcare setting
Experience with similar patient population in either an acute care setting or as applicable to area of practice
Education/training REQUIRED:
Baccalaureate Degree in Nursing from an accredited School of Nursing
Education/training PREFERRED:
Completion of a Master's Degree in Nursing
Certification in specialty area
Independent action(s) required:
Practices within the boundaries of the regulations governing the practice of nursing in the Commonwealth of Virginia.
Practice is guided by the ANA Code of Ethics for Nursing and established nursing practice standards and follows the VCUHS policies and procedures.
Organizes and plans work with input from the patient/family or other stakeholders with specific defined outcomes and demonstrates use of sound clinical judgment and resources.
Supervisory responsibilities (if applicable):
May supervises assigned subordinates.

Schedules, including requirements of shift rotations and hours of work may be adjusted as necessary to meet program requirements and/or needs.
