2nd shift position, 3:30 pm - 12:00 am

POSITION SUMMARY

This position is intended as an entry level role for learning and developing mechanical skills, knowledge, and abilities with potential progression to technician or machinist. The maintenance utility employee is responsible for supporting shop processes to produce aircraft/aerospace parts and components and performs maintenance and repairs on shop and facility equipment as needed.

Essential Functions Statement(s)







  • Clean and maintain shop areas including the chemical room, machine shop and production floor for day-to-day operations to include FOD control.


  • Organize shop materials, tools, and maintain 5S compliance.


  • Learn to select, align, and secure specified holding fixtures, cutting tools, attachments,


accessories, and materials on machines such as mills, lathes, grinders, sanders, drill presses, computerized engraving machines, and riveting machines.


  • Assist production technicians with preparing aircraft parts for inspections by using solvent cleaners, paint strippers and media blast as required.


  • Stage material and ensure that machines are in a safe, clean and orderly manner.


  • Perform other duties as assigned.

SKILLS & ABILITIES

Education:

High School Graduate or General Education Degree (GED): Required
Associate degree (two-year college or technical school): Preferred

Experience:

Familiarity with tooling and measuring techniques/equipment preferred.

Computer Skills: General computer skills, including basic Microsoft Excel and Outlook skills preferred.
Other Requirements: Understanding of EHS requirements and workplace safety is required.
