Position Summary

Oceaneering knows robotics. From operating the world's largest ROV fleet conducting mission-critical operations deep under the oceans, to deploying cutting-edge autonomous vehicles in warehouses and automotive operations, we know a thing or two about applying robotics technologies and solid cross-disciplinary engineering to help our clients bring automation to some of the harshest, dangerous, and most demanding environments.
The Test Technician is responsible for conducting testing of Oceaneering Mobile Robotics (OMR) products to ensure they meet all specified requirements before deployment. This role involves close collaboration with engineering and manufacturing teams to validate the functionality of products.

Duties & Responsibilities

ESSENTIAL

* Assist in the development and execution of test plans, test cases, and test scripts for project specific scenarios or features.
* Perform functional, regression, and performance testing according to established procedures and guidelines to identify defects and ensure product reliability.
* Accurately document test procedures, results, and any defects or anomalies encountered during testing.
* Assist in analyzing test results to identify root causes of issues and assist in troubleshooting defects.
* Collaborate with engineering teams to provide feedback on product performance and support resolution efforts.
* Conduct project specific Pre-FAT or FATs in coordination with the project teams.
* Learn the details of new features from the NPI team and become the "Trainers" for those new features for the project personnel.
* Additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

REQUIRED

* Associate degree in an Engineering discipline, or a related field, or relevant combination of education and experience.
* Demonstrable multidisciplinary skillset (e.g. mechanical, electrical, software).
* Minimum 2 years' experience with robotics systems, MaxMover or similar technologies.
* Proven experience in product testing.
* Familiarity with test methodologies, tools, and best practices.
* Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
* Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

DESIRED

* Bachelor's degree in an Engineering discipline.
* Proficiency in scripting or programming languages (e.g., Python, C++, Java).
* Functional safety experience.
* Controls engineering experience such as implementation of control loops, tuning and troubleshooting.
* ISTQB or other relevant certifications.

Additional Information

WORKING CONDITIONS

This position is considered OFFICE WORK which is characterized as follows.

* Almost exclusively indoors during the day and occasionally at night.
* Occasional exposure to airborne dust in the workplace.
* Work surface is stable (flat).
* Requires working indoors in environmentally controlled conditions.
* Job tasks are performed near other people.
