Summary
Teaches and supervises nursing students in classroom and clinical settings and contributes to the professional development of nursing students. Demonstrates integrity, stability, imagination, and discriminative judgment in instruction of nursing students. Contributes to the research and development of the educational program.

Job Duties

  • Creates an environment in the classroom, laboratory, and clinical settings that facilitates student learning and achievement of desired cognitive, affective, and psychomotor outcomes.
  • Assists students to develop as nurses and integrates the values and behaviors expected of those who fulfill that role.
  • Uses a variety of strategies to assess and evaluate student learning in the classroom, laboratory, and clinical settings.
  • Formulates program outcomes and designs curricula that reflect contemporary health care trends and prepares graduates to function effectively in the health care environment.
  • Functions as a change agent and leader to create a preferred future for nursing education and nursing practice.
  • Pursues continuous quality improvement in the nurse educator role.
  • Engages in scholarship.
  • Functions within the educational environment. (i.e. formulation of policies, program reports, input into budget, school's extracurricular activities, etc.).

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's Degree Nursing (or actively enrolled) in ACEN/NLNAC or CCNE accredited program.
  • 3 years Clinical area of specialization/responsibility.
  • Demonstrates integrity, stability, imagination, and discriminative judgment in instruction of nursing students.
  • Demonstrates creativity and perseverance in scholarly activities.
  • Demonstrates respect, collegiality, professionalism, and caring in relations with administration, staff, colleagues, and students.
  • Demonstrates commitment to life-long learning.
  • Knowledge of FERPA.
  • Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite to include Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • RN - Licensed Registered Nurse_PA - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's Degree Nursing or
  • Doctorate
  • Advanced technologies used to deliver or evaluate educational experiences such as course management systems.
  • CNE - Certified Nurse Educator NLN - State of Pennsylvania Upon Hire

Physical Demands
Lift and carry 40-50 lbs. Examples: Push/pull patients on bed, stretcher (requires 29 lbs. push force), lateral transfers up to 50 lbs. of the patient's weight. Frequent to continuous standing/walking. Patient transporters can walk 8-10 miles per shift. *Patient care providers may be required to perform activities specific to their role including kneeling, bending, squatting and performing CPR.
