We are looking for 6 individuals to fill our Brass Musician positions! This is a part-time seasonal position, The pay for this position is $15.00 per hour. 1130 Hampton Ave, St. Louis, MO 63139 Job Objective This position is expected to advance and support the Mission of The Salvation Army. Seasonal Band/Musician will be responsible for playing brass seasonal music for holiday events around the Midland Division. Essential Functions
- Work with the DMD, Officers, and DHQ staff in the Program Department.
- Play for various events during the Kettle Season across the Midland Division
Minimum Qualifications
- Experience in brass instrumental performances.
- Ability to read music at an accomplished level, treble clef preferred.
- Ability to work with and relate to people of various backgrounds in a nondiscriminatory manner regardless of age, sex, cultural history, ethnicity, economic level, religion, sexual orientation, or disability.
- Strong communication skills demonstrated by experience in working with speakers of English as a second language, as well as cross-cultural communication.
- Adhere to all Salvation Army policies and procedures.
- Familiarity with The Salvation Army's area of service.
- Perform other duties as required.
- Be available to perform at kettle sites and events in St. Louis, Missouri, and Illinois during the week and on weekends.
Physical and Working Conditions
- Ability to sit, walk, stand, bend, squat, climb, kneel, and twist on an intermittent or continuous basis and for extended periods of time.
- Ability to move and pack music stands and chairs in and out of vehicles.
- Ability to play in various types of weather.
- Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. (usually file boxes).
- Ability to understand written information.
