POSITION SUMMARY: The Director of Distribution is responsible for the day-to-day operations of the distribution center network of facilities, which includes all retail divisions and the direct fulfillment area as well as any monitoring budgets and expenses. In addition, this position will be involved with planning staff for growth. This position will also have direct responsibility for planning and execution of major projects within the operation. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Directs the Operations Manager to coordinate, motivate and direct all staff within the operation. This includes regular staff meetings at the manager-supervisor level to ensure daily objectives are clear and on target.
- Assists with establishing and implementing long-term strategies and objectives to ensure an efficient and outfitter friendly environment is initiated and maintained.
- Communicates and coordinates with corporate departments to ensure daily and weekly objectives and strategies of the company are supported.
- Partners with Human Resources department to ensure staff and outfitter issues are addressed.
- Interviews, hires, and provides the training and reviews of key staff positions.
- Organizes and conducts regular facility meetings.
- Ensures there is regular communication with Merchandising, Marketing, and the Contract Center so that merchandise and customer orders are processed according to business standards.
- Ensures that team objectives are clear, that questions are answered and that a team approach to solving issues and dealing with facility wide issues is established.
- Ensures that all department operating standards are understood and maintained. Monitoring and reporting of the actual production levels versus expected/budgeted levels should be a part of monthly review with staff.
- Directs the evaluation and communication with merchandise vendors to ensure merchandise is received at the facility in a 'Ready to Process" condition.
- Ensures Bass Pro Shops Customs-Trade Partnership Against Terrorist (C-TPAT) plan and procedures as they relate to the DC operations are followed.
- Prepares and facilitates monthly work sessions, and other similar meetings by coordinating with other Director level team members within the business unit.

EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS:
- Minimum Degree Required: Bachelor's Degree
- Years of experience:7+ Years as well as 3-5 Years at a Director level or Sr. DC Management position in retail distribution operation preferred.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITY:
- Excellent computer skills are a must. Working knowledge of Manhattan Managements Systems, MS Products, including Outlook, Word, Excel, Access, Power Point and Project.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Strong organization, prioritization, decision making, problem solving and conflict management skills.
- Strong leadership abilities that motivate, focus and foster a team-oriented approach with capability to work in a hands on environment.
- Comfortable and experienced with large group presentations.
- Excellent project management skills.
