Position Summary SHIFT: Monday - Friday 8:00AM - 4:00PM Install, maintain, troubleshoot and repair combined heat and power and chilled water systems and connected equipment to perform safely and efficiently; perform preventive, predictive and corrective maintenance duties and routines. Perform routine and emergency maintenance on high temperature hot water, chilled water and electrical distribution piping, valves and controls throughout the NYU portfolio of properties. Perform housekeeping, painting, labeling etc on plant equipment and systems. Complete assigned tasks safely and efficiently utilizing good work practice as part of a maintenance team or working independently with minimal supervision. Perform advanced troubleshooting and diagnosis on plant equipment, systems and controls. Correct and repair advanced mechanical, electrical and instrumentation faults on plant equipment. Understand how to troubleshoot equipment faults/failures and identify root causes of plant issues. Recommend a repair/recovery strategy to return plant to normal operating condition. Must be able to communicate effectively on e-mail, radio and via phone. Repair and maintain machinery, mechanical and electrical equipment in accordance with diagrams, sketches, operating manuals, manufacturers' specifications or supervisor s instructions, using hand and power tools, precision measuring or testing devices. Observe, calibrate, troubleshoot and adjust a wide variety of control valves, transmitters, PLC's and various instrumentation and control devices to assure proper operation and repair. Assist in the scoping, planning and schedule of shutdowns and repairs. Order supplies and replacement parts used in the plant as required and directed. Respond to emergencies and determines corrective actions using available resources. This rate is based on bargaining unit contracts. This pay range represents base pay only and excludes any additional items such as incentives, bonuses, clinical compensation, or other items.
