ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES include but are not limited to:



  • Supports and demonstrates IMA's core values
  • Values and understands the importance of diversity, equity, and inclusion among all IMA associates
  • Client Management

    • Leads both long- and short-term strategic consultation and planning efforts for client benefit program
    • Ensures programs and plan design are in alignment with all applicable regulatory requirements
    • Utilizes advanced knowledge of actuarial computations and underwriting practices to analyze claims data and provide applied explanation to the client and internal team
    • Directs the service teams' work assignments related to project management, claims escalation and resolution, and plan analysis/reporting


  • Carrier and Vendor Relationships

    • Develops strong carrier and vendor relationships and leads negotiation and advocacy efforts during client coverage placement and renewal process
    • Demonstrates expert knowledge of current and emerging markets and brings solutions to the table aligned with clients' stated goals through a commitment to continuous learning


  • Production Partnership

    • Co-facilitates or leads finalist and/or prospect meetings in partnership with production staff
    • Develops and submits technical responses to prospect requests for proposals (RFPs).
    • Ensures compensation received is accurate and properly executed


  • Internal Resource

    • Subject matter expert in one or more benefits strategy concepts and demonstrates an active willingness to serve as a resource for other agency benefits staff throughout the entire benefits division
    • Identifies and leads value-added special projects and participates/leads in department or agency-wide committees as requested


  • People Management

    • Coordinates and manages the overall work and projects of assigned associates, providing clear communication of expectations, established timeframes, regular progress updates, and annual performance evaluations
    • Participates in the hiring process for direct reports as well as additional department hires as needed
    • Serves as a mentor and coach for account executives as needed
    • Provides feedback to service team members, and their direct supervisors as needed, in support of their on-going professional development goals, ensuring client expectations are met





REQUIRED EXPERIENCE AND SKILLS include but are not limited to:



  • 5+ years of similar or related experience required
  • Demonstrates expert business acumen related to strategy execution, interdependencies, and decision consequences
  • Demonstrates positive mindset and ability to optimize performance through collaboration
  • Demonstrates consistent ability to adapt in stressful situations and develops strategies for improvements in organizational effectiveness
  • Demonstrates advanced skills with MS Office Suite
  • Demonstrates strong ability and commitment to excellence in communication, both written and oral, through active listening, information sharing, and a focus on solutions
  • Attains and maintains Life and Health licensure
  • 4-year degree in business or related discipline preferred

Salary Range
