The Process Engineer is responsible for leading a system design team on projects. Systems can include production and distribution of high purity gases and chemicals, upstream and downstream biologics processing, small molecule synthesis, fill/finish, and specialty chemicals, and high purity water, waste treatment, and clean and support utilities. Works with a team of engineers and/or designers to create and document designs fulfilling the project design scope consistent with industry-accepted practice as well as client-preferred standards, with minimal supervision
Explore your tasks and responsibilities
- Develops system design from Concept Phase through
Construction Documents - Supports the development of concepts, basis of design,
process flow diagrams, process and instrumentation diagrams, piping and equipment plans, details, specifications, cost, quality, and schedule, bid evaluations, and submittal reviews for their Process Systems - Contributes to the Process Knowledge Center via documenting
lessons learned, completing CIP assignments from regional system expert, and use of information developed by others in process discipline - Understanding of one or more of core Process Systems used
in ATF and/or LSC projects - Knowledge of industry codes and standards applicable for
their process system design and specifications - Good time management skills, strong work ethic and
attention to details - Must be a strong team player with an ability to build
effective working relationships with individuals, department leads, and client representatives - Energetic and self-motivated
- Able build and maintain positive and productive working
relationships both internal and external - Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Other duties as assigned
Show your expertise
- Education: Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering or
related field required - Passed Fundamentals of Engineering (FE) exam Preferred
- 2+ years of experience Preferred
- Nation Council of Examiners for Engineering and Surveying
(NCEES) Record recommended - Experience in one core Process Discipline workgroups on one
large (multiple engineers and designers on the team) and one small (designer(s) only) project - Prior experience in consulting engineering
- Experience working within a team environment
