Primary Purpose

Focuses on developing, identifying, and analyzing existing general business processes to ensure sustainable, repeatable, and quantifiable improvements.

Minimum Specifications

Education

  • Bachelor's in Industrial/Systems Engineering, Engineering, or a related technical field.

Experience

  • 2 years of relevant work experience.
  • Requires theoretical knowledge, often gained through a combination of experience and/or advanced education, college / university degree Bachelors.
  • Must be able to demonstrate knowledge of continuous improvement methodologies and tools (LSS, PDCA, QA/QC tools, SPC, RCA, CAPA, statistical testing, MSA, time studies)
  • Prefer exposure to simulation used to solve complex business process challenges.
  • Prefer exposure to project management processes / methodologies and be able to support projects, utilizing PM framework.
  • Must have solid presentation and computer skills (Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Access, Excel, and Project), statistical software (i.e., Minitab)

Equivalent Education and/or Experience

  • May have an equivalent combination of education and experience to substitute for both the educational and the experience requirements.

Certification/Registration/Licensure

  • Preferred Six Sigma Green Belt (SSGB)/Lean Six Sigma Green Belt (LSSGB) certification.
  • Preferred Six Sigma Black Belt (SSBB), Lean Six Sigma Black Belt (LSSBB), Certified Quality Engineer (CQE)
  • Preferred Project Management Professional (PMI PMP) certification(s) a strong plus

  • Established and productive contributor; continuously improves on processes and systems that may require understanding of a broader set of issues or other job areas.
  • May provide guidance, help with training, and review work of entry level employees.
  • May lead parts of less complex projects or processes.
  • Explains facts, policies and practices related to job area to internal stakeholders and counterparts.
  • Communicates with contacts both within and outside of job area on matters that require some explanation or interpretation.
  • Influences parties within job area regarding concepts, practices, and approaches.
  • Works to achieve operational, functional, and/or business targets within job area with direct impact on job area results.
  • Established and productive contributor; continuously improves on processes and systems that may require understanding of a broader set of issues or other job areas.
  • Works independently on larger, moderately complex projects/ assignments.
  • Simulation experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Applies process definition, improvement, and design methodologies to identify, analyze, and improve business processes which will improve quality, reduce costs, increase efficiencies/productivity, and increase customer satisfaction.
  • Develops documentation to support analysis and improvement including business requirements, functional specifications, process maps, and gap/problem analysis.
  • Plans and implements quality assurance and compliance processes.
  • May support development of training and/or change management materials and activities to support new processes and procedures.
  • Research best business practices within and outside the organization to establish benchmark data.
  • Determines how new information technologies can support reengineering business processes.

Job Accountabilities

  1. Identifies ways to improve work processes and improve customer satisfaction. Makes recommendations to supervisor, implements, and monitors results as appropriate in support of the overall goals of the department and Parkland.
  2. Stays abreast of the latest developments, advancements, and trends in the field by attending seminars/workshops, reading professional journals, actively participating in professional organizations, and/or maintaining certification or licensure. Integrates knowledge gained into current work practices.
  3. Maintains knowledge of applicable rules, regulations, policies, laws, and guidelines that impact the area. Develops effective internal controls designed to promote adherence with applicable laws, accreditation agency requirements, and federal, state, and private health plans. Seeks advice and guidance as needed to ensure proper understanding.
