Northwestern University Feinberg School of Medicine invites applications and nominations for the position of Chair of the Department of Pediatrics.

The new chair will report to the dean of the medical school and leadership at the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago. In their role, the new Chair is responsible for oversight of the academic, research, clinical, and administrative affairs of the Department at the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago, Pediatric Faculty Foundation, and school of medicine.

The Department of Pediatrics is home to over 800 medical school faculty working in 23 subspecialties. The Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago ranks among the top children's hospitals in U.S. News & World Report, with 9 clinical specialties in the US News and World Report survey of children's hospitals ranked within the top 25 nationally.

In 2023, the US News & World Report, ranked the Feinberg School of Medicine 13th in the nation as a research-intensive medical school supported by $706 million of annual research funding. The medical school is embedded among the Ann & Robert H. Lurie Children's Hospital of Chicago and two additional U.S. News & World Report Honor Roll hospitals, Northwestern Memorial Hospital, and the Shirley Ryan AbilityLab.

Successful candidates will possess an MD or MD/PhD with board certification and be eligible for a faculty appointment as a full-time Professor with proven scholarly accomplishments and national recognition in a clinical or science discipline.
