The Accounting Director Transformation plays a key role in a growing Global Accounting Team and will be responsible for all Accounting aspects of the largest Legal Entity at CareDx. The individual will also play an important role in SOX compliance, be a key contact for external audit, and will be integral in the evaluation and implementation of new technology to improve efficiencies of the business. This role is a leader in the finance and accounting organization making key decisions regarding accounting policies. This position reports to the Sr. Director, Controller, CareDx Inc and is located in South San Francisco, California. Areas of the Responsibilities:
- Manage and lead the monthly close, including general ledger maintenance, reconciliations, account analysis and preparation and posting journal entries for transactional areas such as clinical trial accruals, inventories, cost of goods
- Manage all aspects of the local accounting organization including treasury, tax, and insurance for CareDx
- Drive finance transformation initiatives, including implementation of new tools and validating system improvements. Create, implement, and maintain processes and procedures.
- Assist with various aspects of Sarbanes Oxley (SOX) including the development and documentation of controls surrounding new processes, performance of controls owned by Accounting and maintain effective internal control processes
- Coordinate and lead quarterly and annual audit process for CareDx Inc.
- Responsible for preparation of financial statements, operating metrics, and flux analyses
- Work closely with the FP&A team to provide support for the monthly flux analyses, and annual budget and planning process
- Maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders, including internal and external audit.
- Prepare the Cash Flow Statements
- Manage and complete special projects as necessary
- Manage and engage members of the accounting team
- Others tasks as assigned related to the accounting functions
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or economics
- CPA required
- Big 4 experience preferred
- 10 to 15+ years of relevant and progressive finance and accounting experience required, with at least 6 years in a publicly traded company ideally in a global environment
- Biotech industry experience preferred
- Deep knowledge and application of US GAAP, SEC and SOX404 regulations and guidelines
- Strong written and verbal communication with the ability to effectively present to and engage with a wide range of internal and external audiences, including external audit firm, external law firm, regulators, and key internal decision makers
- Strong analytical skills coupled with good decision-making skills
- Experience with NetSuite preferred, intermediate to advanced excel skills
- Energetic, hands-on, resourceful self-started who can partner with all levels and functions of the company and takes a consultative and collaborative approach
- A team player who can manage cross functional involvement for the purpose of getting to a common goal
- Excellent leadership and influencing skills
- A leader who is comfortable in fast-moving, dynamic environments and adaptable to change, able to meet stringent deadlines.
