Field Engineer/Assistant Superintendent

Position Description:

The Field Engineer/Assistant Superintendent's primary role is to help site supervise, oversee, plan and ensure the success of the construction job. The Assistant Superintendent will continuously monitor and supervise the operations, and subcontractors, reporting the progress of the project to the Superintendent. The Assistant superintendent has a responsibility to support the Superintendent and the Field Team to successfully meet the time, quality, and financial obligations of the job in a safe environment.

Core Responsibilities:



  • Support the management of all subcontractor activities.
  • Support project safety. Work with the Superintendent and the Safety Manager to ensure that all health and safety project plans are implemented.
  • Support the scheduling process and related software; able to actively status the field progress and assist with schedule updates.
  • With Superintendent, lead and supervise the workers and monitor work performance.
  • Work collaboratively with management by keeping the project team informed of progress, and documenting information and trends.
  • Track/ maintain construction documents, Support Quality Assurance of products and installations, manage punch lists and document changes.
  • Attend and document Safety, Subcontractor and Owner meetings.
  • Provide input and assistance with pre-job planning, strategizing, and scheduling.
  • Mentor subordinates and promote team atmosphere reflecting BOND's values.



Qualifications:



  • BS in engineering or related discipline or equivalent work experience in the Construction Industry
  • Requires exceptional supervisory, people skills and the ability to maintain positive working relationships.
  • Builder's license and certifications (OSHA, First Aid, CPR, etc.) are a plus.
  • General understanding and a willingness to advance knowledge with Owner Contracts Plan & specification requirements, subcontractor agreements, scope, and risk management mitigation.
  • Exhibits an understanding of construction process and safety requirements.
  • Demonstrated experience with scheduling process and use of a project plan.
  • Must be detail-oriented, organized, flexible, and able to effectively multitask while working in a fast-paced environment.
  • Must have excellent time management and prioritization skills to ensure deadlines are met while providing accurate deliverables.
  • Must have a robust knowledge of Excel, Word, Bluebeam, and Outlook - Project Management and Scheduling Software a plus.

The employee is occasionally required to sit; climb or balance; and stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl. The employee must frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 25 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
